1305968	2012-10-09 02:54:00	My nan has bought a new tv, which only had hdmi, usb, and a ypbpr input. She has a dvd/vcr player which only has a rca connection. Would it be possible to get a cheap rca to ypbpr connection cable? Cheers	Nick G (16709)

Yes, the Y doubles as a yellow composite connector. I did actually try that, but the TV came up with 'no device detected'. Any ideas as to that one? Note here that th VCR works fine on her other tv (which does have a full set of composite ports), so the vcr and cables work fine.	Nick G (16709)

I installed some Samsung TV's as security monitors, using the 'Y' from the component input as the composite input. Selecting 'Video 1' came up with the picture. 1305976	2012-10-09 07:40:00	A lot of the newer panasonic, samsung tvs only have 1 combined composite/component connection. They're dead connections. Much cheaper for them to load a set up with HDMI is it's digital, needs no analog conversion. LG I think are a bit better and have a few more connections. Depends how resistent to change the person is. I've been looking for my mother in law, she has a satellite box, dvd player and vcr all on composite. I'm replacing the dvd with a $130 Samsung Bluray player using HDMI, and could later on replace the satellite box with an hdmi enabled one. The VCR I'm going to chuck out. People needs to realise that things have moved on. It's a fact a life (that a lot of poeple wont be happy with).	psycik (12851)
1305977	2012-10-09 07:44:00	Well, its a new TV so the TV won't be being replaced. Its a small one for her kitchen, the main one is a sony. The sony has a dvd player/recorder (onto a 500gb hdd) attached to it, she was just wondering if I could get the old vcr/dvd hooked up to her kitchen TV.	Nick G (16709)
