| 1305804 | 2012-10-08 18:26:00 | Currently I am using Super Video Encoder to convert a large mp4 file to VOB files. ImgBurn is the only burning software that I have, and to make a DVD I have always used ISO files, not VOB. Can I simply put the VOB files (along with the two folders: Video, Audio) on a DVD using Win7 in order to make a DVD that will play in any DVD player? I believe ImgBurn only uses ISO files, and cannot make a DVD from VOB's. Correct? [edit] Probably should have posted this on PF1, not here on Chat. |

Only thing is, not all standalone DVD players will be able to play the DVD. Unless you update the DVD player. To a more modern one | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||

Open IB, select Write files/folders to disc,on the right of the box select Browse for a folder, find the Video file you want which includes the vob files and select it. Under Device select your speed, under Labels write something short in the ISO9660 and UDF boxes, Information label will show you if the file will fit on a DVD, On main page there is a Destination in which you select the drive you want to write the DVD, Put in a DVD and when the folder to disc picture turns red stomp on it. |

| 1305808 | 2012-10-08 19:13:00 | Sweet no probs :) I had a similar prob here. Someone gave me a DVD (which had vob files on it). They're old videos from a film camera or something. They wanted me to edit so much out of it. So, I made 5 different videos. The whole thing, one without the funerals, one with the funerals. One with a wedding only. And one with no funeral or wedding. Only one of them (that I copied the vob files as is), wouldn't work on a standalone DVD player. The only way they could play it, was on a computer All I did, was use DVD maker and Freemake video converter (you can edit with this program). DVD maker will take about 20-30 mins (depending on what you add to it obviously) |

| 1305810 | 2012-10-08 20:47:00 | Neil - That did not work. ImgBurn does not recognize VOB's - not a supported file. An error message said to go into Build Mode but this also did not recognize VOB or mp4 files. I believe ImgBurn only uses ISO files, and cannot make a DVD from VOB's. Correct? Incorrect. | 1305811 | 2012-10-08 20:51:00 | Speedy - Win7 DVD Maker did not work as the VOB's were a bit too large to fit on one DVD. I then tried DVD Shrink and managed to make an ISO file of DVD size and used ImgBurn. The DVD plays fine in a DVD player but does not have any chapters and I do not see a way to get chapters using Win7 DVD Maker. |

| 1305812 | 2012-10-08 21:11:00 | DVD Maker is pretty basic. It doesnt have everything in it. You'll have to edit it / them if its too big to fit on a DVD. Before you burn it to a DVD. The closest thing to chapters in DVD Maker would be the scenes option, when you go to play a DVD / preview whatever in DVD Maker | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||
| 1305813 | 2012-10-09 00:02:00 | I'm sure I have used dvd decrypter to write VOB or ISO files a while back, though it's mainly used for ripping from a dvd. Afterdawn (www.afterdawn.com) has a tutorial, which includes using Folder2ISO. Though I think it seems similar as with image burn. I recall with DVD shrink you can custom create (www.ehow.com) chapters/titles by using reauthoring and start - end frames. Bit tedious though. |
