1305367 2012-10-05 07:57:00 Hi I bought a Sony DVD recorder a couple of years ago
RDR HX780 but it has an analog tuner. I was wondering
if it could be converted to have a digital tuner. I am aware of
digital extra boxes but would prefer to just have my two items,
ie Sony Bravia digital TV and my existing recorder. Any
information would be much appreciated.
Complete change of subject. What was that site that pf1
used to sell items some years ago? I found it quite useful
and was able to swop, sell a few items.

changed in that time. Also the memory not the same
as it used to be.

1305370 2012-10-05 21:01:00 If the TV has FV on it, it looks like you can record from it by using a scart lead, and enabling the smartlink feature / TV Direct Record option Speedy Gonzales (78)

Smart Link feature on the TV.

1305372 2012-10-10 07:15:00 Just had a reply from Sony service centre. They replied:-
not possible to convert. either buy a set top box or buy a
new unit that has a digital tuner in it.
