1331504 2013-03-07 01:51:00 The graphic card..
interesting that you had issues with another PC, does that have a decent PSU?

I did wonder if the GPU is faulty, as I said, in safe mode, almost any GPU will display VGA, even SVGA, its when you install the drivers that the GPU gets tested\stressed and shows if faulty....

1331505 2013-03-07 01:59:00 Somiester, I mis-communicated
I tried another video card (not another PC)

The original new video card: Radeon HD6450 (1Gb DDR3)

the replacement video card I tried was an ASUS (I had laying around - can't find the model #)

Failed with integrated GPU?....sounds like the system is knackered.....to test, you could hook up a different hard drive and install o/s just long enough to know if when the GPU driver is install the system works....

1331510 2013-03-11 00:35:00 Update:
SolMiester: I hooked up a different hard drive and install o/s per your suggestion & works just fine.
sooo are we looking at a corrupt O/S & a reinstall?
NZHawk (4093)
1331511 2013-03-11 00:40:00 As I mentioned in Post #24 - have to determine if its the Hardware or the OS.

Looks like its a corrupted OS. Reinstalling it will give the best outcome, that way you know its clean and good.

Assuming you installed the Nvidia graphic Drivers as well.

Thats what all the big name brand manufactures usually suggest as well on some warranty claims ( unless its obvious somethings blown up) - do a reinstall, if it works OK then it was the OS, if it still plays up then look at hardware.
