I have saved a small fortune on my phone bill using it and more than half my contact list is on Viber already... I see a few people joining Viber every week. It's only really useful if you have to talk with iPeople ;) Thought Google Talk only works in the USA, or did I confuse it with Google Voice. I love WhatsApp, been great keeping in touch with friends and family overseas, sending TXT/Photos/Videos easily. Used Viber a few times and the voice call worked quite well (with a good 3G connection), but it is not as good for IM as WhatsApp. Both Viber and WhatsApp are cross platform, so I can communicate with the "dark side" ;-) ES File Explorer is the best file manager. It accesses my network shares without downloading them first whereas Astro makes you wait. I've also tried File Expert. Second that, I use ES File Explorer everyday, copying files between my shared folders on the LAN and the Phone/Tab Other Apps I use all the time WhatsApp, Skype, GPS Essentials, Pulse, FlipBoard ImageShrink, VidTrim, Camera360, Aviary Photo Editor, Color Splash, CamScanner WiFi Analyzer, Fing, Elixir 2, Pocket Cloud, TeamViewer, TeamViewer Quick Support (only work with TouchWiz phones) For Giggles & Fun ... 1305930	2012-10-10 00:37:00	Thought Google Talk only works in the USA, or did I confuse it with Google Voice. Yeah Google Voice is for Voicemail and PC-to-Landline calling (predominantly) whereas Google Talk is more for Device <-> Device or Device <-> PC calling. It's probably one of the more annoying things, how Google Voice, Google Talk and G+ Messenger all tie in together (Or don't).	Chilling_Silence (9)

Well, most of us have access to WiFi most of the time anyway, so at least you can have free calls at home. And with the new prepay plans that have 400-500mb per month, it's not a big deal, I think. It's only really useful if you have to talk with iPeople ;) Err no, Viber is cross platform Google Talk isn't, it's there for Bada, Symbian and Blackberry, too. Ironic that anyone would bring this up on this forum. I am an iPerson, if I only communicated with people iPeope, I would use iMessage and FaceTime. But I don't. I talk to all sorts of people, limiting myself to a certain platform hurts only me. And for that reason google talk doesn't work. Also, I don't know about google talk, but I assume you need to register with google and add people individually based on their google ID - if that is the case I would just use Skype (which I do, but only for video sessions). On viber you just use the person's regular number, because you already know it. There is no need to go around randomly and add people etc. This is how google talk/imessage/facetime should have been implemented, free and for as many people as possible.	Cato (6936)

Viber is cross-platform, whereas if you wanted to stick to talking to Android people (I know almost 10x the number of people with Android devices vs iPhones), then you can use Gtalk. Viber works on Android AND iPhone though. You don't need to register for Gtalk, it uses your Google Account which you already use when you setup your Android device for the Play Store. 1305934	2012-10-10 02:41:00	I use quite a few of the apps already mentioned above on my Nexus 7, so here is a list of others that I use that I haven't noticed above: The Guardian The NZ Herald Drippler Nexus 7 Motorcycle News Calvin & Hobbes Garfield Daily AirNZ mPass Kiwibank TuneIn Radio Flicks IMDb Airdroid Dropbox Nexus Photo Viewer Nexus Media Importer Bluefire Reader Calibre Companion Mantano Reader Camera (only needed for the Nexus 7 I think, cos there is no app for the inbuilt camera) WiFi Manager Opera Compass Bubble (I use this to check the level on the campervan when parked up for the night - I have wedges to level the van if necessary for a good night's sleep)!
