1332021 2013-03-09 22:52:00 I am having trouble renaming it , ihave three copies of the gdrv.old now and it keeps renewing the system file so i will go back to the HDD and see whats happening there PeterQ (16315)
1332022 2013-03-09 22:58:00 See if Revo Uninstaller will remove them. Looks like its a common prob with GB programs. One site says they've abandoned these programs and they forgot / didn't tell anyone. So theyre probably buggy or something / weren't tested to see if they actually worked

Probably the easiest way to fix it / reformat and dont install any GB programs

1332023 2013-03-09 23:11:00 I will try revo uninstaller first but do you think that repair from system image which was done a week ago would be ok PeterQ (16315)
1332024 2013-03-09 23:12:00 Wont hurt to try it. Just as long as those programs arent in it Speedy Gonzales (78)
1332025 2013-03-09 23:27:00 Ok revo did it but still the same problem so will try system image and if that fails it will have to be reinstall PeterQ (16315)
1332026 2013-03-09 23:33:00 Did you read the edited link I posted in #15 ?

In that forum post #4 there was someone else that has the same problem, they say they had 4 Memory Slots full and the problem occurred.

Seen this happen before, some makes of RAM can cause problems.Got a customers PC here right now has random lockups, gigabyte board, RAM tests OK but as soon as the RAM was replaced with another Brand the lockups stopped.

The stupid Gigabyte Motherboard can't run the 4 sticks of RAM (apparently if I had purchased the EXACT memory they recommend - still can't find that info - and had the voltages set to the precise number, then it could run the four stick of ram). So after almost 30 days of screwing around I now have my VERY FAST albeit with only 4gb of RAM computer back and it is running beautifully.

If the Backed up image has the same files then theres a high chance it will do it as well. Quicker to play around with the RAM configurations and reset the BIOS back to standard to at least test anyway.

Sory Wainui i did not think that would be the problem as it loads ok on the HDD, only the SSD i'm having problems with but if you think i should check the ram first i will try it

1332028 2013-03-10 00:07:00 Its not going to hurt to try, "if" its the RAM causing the problem then it will more than likely do the same on the Image. wainuitech (129)
