1331497 2013-03-07 00:20:00 Process of elimination: Did you try the New card in another PC as Sol mentioned, AND load in the drivers for it. If so Does it work OK ?

This is to see if its a card problem or OS problem on the Dell. The onboard graphics will be using different drivers to the card.

1331499 2013-03-07 00:53:00 what is the card model and its power requirements...what PSU is in the PC? SolMiester (139)
1331500 2013-03-07 01:09:00 Good question!
Radeon HD6450 (1Gb DDR) 400W or greater recommended

The PSU is 300W - could this be why the computer doesn't recognize it?

CPU: Pentium Dual Core E5800 3.20 Ghz (6Gb ram)

1331501 2013-03-07 01:22:00 update:

Threw in another video card, just to try and it booted ok.

1331502 2013-03-07 01:29:00 LOL - does the card have the 6 pin power connector at the end of it?....if not, then the max power draw is 150w supplied via the PCIe slot, so Id say you would probably be alright, especially since Dell PSU's are quiet robust.....how old is the PSU, if at 75% efficiency, it could be struggling.....
Best bet is to see if it powers up okay in a PC with bigger PSU.......

what is the make and model?
