1305150 2012-10-04 19:58:00 Seems like a good idea, a lot of other forums do it successfully. Agent_24 (57)
1305151 2012-10-04 20:19:00 I'd like to see it happen. As far as membership goes, would something like 'you can join if you have over 1000 posts or you have been a member since dec 2004 work? Ideally people who don't meet those but who are still active members could ask a mod to be allowed in. Nick G (16709)
1305152 2012-10-04 20:19:00 Another forum I am a member of has a seperate "wanted to buy / for sale" forum. They sell anything from computer parts, to iphones, media centres, etc - even the odd bit of Home Theatre componentryWhat happens with disputes on that other forum? When goods don't match description, are faulty or go missing in the mail? Who is held responsible for sorting it out? Do they restrict businesses from advertising products? Jen (38)

Just let everyone be aware that you use it at your own risk. Anyone with multiple reports as being a scammer gets their account suspended, aside from that, you're on your own. I believe that is what other forums do.

I was thinking of badcaps.net and gpforums.co.nz - both are associated with a business, so is PressF1, associated with PCWorld\Fairfax?

Pretty fair rules I think: www.gpforums.co.nz

You can see where the complications come in if someone lodges a complaint against Fairfax BMG because a product sold on PressF1 was faulty and the seller refused to refund the money. Jen (38)

Would it not be enough to state in the terms and conditions that Fairfax was not liable for any problems with dealings on the trade forum?

1305159 2012-10-04 20:45:00 How to run it (wtb/wts forums):

1) go to gpforums.co.nz
2) copy rules from buy/sell/trade
3) appoint users willing to moderate only the bst forum
4) ???
5) profit
