1331419 2013-03-05 11:19:00 Ye ole bluetooth has died on my machine (Lenovo X60S). I am partly responsible as I found someway through the system icon at bottom right hand corner of screen to switch it off as I wanted to save battery power a few weeks ago. Now, try as I might I can find no way to switch it back on again. It is on in the bios settings (enabled in OS as opposed to hidden) and when I search for "Bluetooth" in my windows 8 homescreen only four options in settings come up and none of them allow me to reactivate it. The light below the LCD sceen doesn't light up and I can't find out how to get it switched on again. Am I missing something simple here?

I previously used it to copy photos from my cellphone so it definitly did work in the past.

Any help much appreciated :)

Thanks, but the bluetooth option is not available in those menus for me at all . Pushing Function F5 shows wifi switch and flight mode but no bluetooth settings .

When I try to send a file via bluetooth it fails and asks me to check if the radio is "plugged in" .

In devices and printers there is no bluetooth options, however my cellphone is still listed as a device since the previous times that I used it .

I am sure if I can get the light on under the lcd screen that things will start again if I can only find out how to switch it on . (physical wireless switch is on under laptop already) .

1331423 2013-03-05 19:46:00 Does it appear in device manager? Speedy Gonzales (78)
1331424 2013-03-06 05:34:00 Hi Speedy. No, it is not even in that list. Unless it is under a different less descriptive name (not including the word "bluetooth"). There is one system device called Atmel TPM that has an exclamation mark beside it - apparently "windows cannot load drivers requied for this device". I have no idea what it is for though. 1331425 2013-03-06 05:41:00 TPM is this I think thats if the system supports it (en.wikipedia.org). It maybe under network? Which X60S is it? There's like 9-10 of them, on the site Speedy Gonzales (78)
1331426 2013-03-06 09:25:00 Not under network either. My X60S is a type 1702 -58M Johnnz (7246)
1331427 2013-03-06 18:43:00 Put teamviewer on it if you want and I could have a look. If its not there thats why its not working. Its either off or its dead Speedy Gonzales (78)
