| 1306316 | 2012-10-11 00:13:00 | The weather is very hard to predict at the best of times. It would be nice if the farmers could accurately predict the weather for the coming season. Many farmers in Southland must have been caught unawares when we had a drought during last December and January. This must have affected grass growth for farmers wanting to make hay for the winter feed. The Government must spend millions on weather predictions. I have a $250 weather station in my backyard which sometimes gives an accurate prediction. Perhaps it is as accurate as the Government's weather prediction system for predicting local conditions. |
