You have to remember however that writing at faster speeds doesn't actually mean that it's a good choice due to jitter errors, etc when playing back on a standalone DVD player. That aside, I upgrade quite often myself too. In 12 months, I can see myself thinking about the next DVD writer... ;) Lo. |

Or will we still be using DVDs in 12 months. Sigh. Anyway, I am just jealous ;-) and probably trying to rain on your parade. What were your thoughts about DVD RAM, Lohsing? I understand it is a really good format for back ups and longevity of disks, but the other two formats are more commonly used. Have I got that right? John |

| 127151 | 2003-03-11 04:33:00 | Well, I don't know about DVD-Ram, but I do know that there is a new format shortly about to be released(Blu-ray (cdfreaks.com))... I think it's a blue-violet laser and each recordable disc is capable of holding up to 27.4 gigs... Makes the 4.7 currently available look very small. Lo. |
