| 126953 | 2003-03-09 23:18:00 | Firstly, my thanks to all those who responded to my post a couple of week ago about the out of memory problem that I was encountering on trying to run a particular piece of software. The owner of the software eventuallys responded: "I'm running Win2K and I know that 9.X has problems in that it only has 64k to hold all the handles in, so that may be the problem." That's all he could suggest and so I have ditched that piece of trial software. On the question of my massive permanent swap file, I agree it was a little large and I have reduced it in line with the several suggestions. However, I run EE and this demands a preset discrete swap file to function properly - so I can't just let Windows handle it. Many thanks for all the responses... Cheers... Sami |
