2003-03-09 10:24:00 | Can anyone tell me what the Host server on Yahoo is (i.e. POP3, HTTP, ????). I am having trouble configuring the incoming and outgoing mail servers. Thanks heaps for any help anyone can give. Cheers

2003-03-09 12:09:00 | POP3 Incoming mail server: pop.mail.yahoo.com Outgoing mail server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com Account name: type your Yahoo Mail ID (your email address without the "@yahoo.com") Password: Type your Yahoo mail password. Important: The Yahoo! Mail SMTP server now requires authentication. To turn this setting on: 1.From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts." 2.Select the "Mail" tab. 3.Double-click the account labeled "pop.mail.yahoo.com." 4.Select the "Servers" tab. 5.Check the box next to "My Server Requires Authentication." 6.Click "OK."

2003-03-09 12:11:00 | I am pretty sure that Yahoo no longer permits you to use OE to check your mail. It used to, but they changed their policy a while back. | Tane (1252) | |
2003-03-09 12:23:00 | To access Yahoo via POP3 you now have to pay US $24.99 a year. Here's a quote from the email they send you if you have not subscribed, and you attempt to use OE: "Yahoo! Mail no longer provides free POP3 Access or Auto Mail Forwarding to Yahoo! Delivers subscribers. If you would like to continue using Mail Forwarding or POP3 Access, please sign up for our improved package that allows you to Use Outlook, Eudora, or another POP3 client to access and manage your Yahoo! Mail."

2003-03-10 20:39:00 | Both right and wrong. Older Yahoo.com accounts will NOT allow you to access via pop3, unless you pay $$ Newer Yahoo.com.au types will still allow it. Get in while its available....
