127369 2003-03-11 09:48:00 I recently installed Windows2000 Pro over the top of Win98, and am now having problems trying to connect to the internet. I have kept my previous account and settings, but when I try to connect I can no longer hear the modem making the funny sqealing noises, in fact I cant even hear it activate, and it waits a few seconds before giving me an error message "error 692" something about modem not working properly or not turned on or not installed. But it is insalled and appears to be working properly and turned on. Please help if possible, i'm quite lost... Step (3336)
127370 2003-03-11 10:16:00 This would seem to be a physical error in your modem.Probably shoddy construction due to you being a pioneer. wrought iron (3250)
127371 2003-03-11 10:28:00 dispite the last bs reply if the modem was working in win98 i doubt its a hardware problem. most likly you havn't installed windows2000 drivers for all of your hardware (eg modem and motherboard) tweak'e (174)
127372 2003-03-11 11:08:00 Check if your modem is responding.

Start/Settings/Control Panel/Phone and Modem
Click on the Modems Tab
Select Properties at the bottom
Select the Diagnostics Tab and Query Modem

If it is not responding you will need to reinstall the correct driver.
