127354 2003-03-11 09:41:00 Lets face it, anti-virus software ain't the cheapest thing in the world. And many people out there are using the net un-protected. so this website maybe of some help to you all. It is a FREE web based Virus Scanner run by Trend-Micro systems (the makers of PC-Cillin) and it seems to do the trick

the URL is:
housecall.trendmicro.com

127355 2003-03-11 09:42:00 How about just getting"AVG" from Grisoft.com (http:www.grisoft.com)?

127356 2003-03-11 09:43:00 That should be Grisoft (http://www.grisoft.com)

Hope that works better...

127357 2003-03-12 06:01:00 Wouldn't that take a while over 56k dialups? cyberchuck (173)
127358 2003-03-12 06:36:00 AVG is cheap - ie free, and works very well.

127359 2003-03-12 06:38:00 The housecall does take awhile, but is better than nothing, and my girls use AVG and it does stop viruses. Just remember to keep it updated, the same as all virus programs. supergran (108)
127360 2003-03-12 06:50:00 I use both housecall and AVG.

Housecall is great, tell somebody to goto housecall.antivirus.com to fix their virus and they're peachy, but for a more permanent solution, you just cant beat the price of AVG for those like me who have no budget! ;-)

127361 2003-03-12 07:47:00 Hmmmm................

I'm not a suspicious type, but......

Every time I have tried Housecall it has told me I had a virus that I knew darned well I didn't have. ?:|

I find it kinda hard to trust any program that does that. Guess I'll just stick to NAV.

Cheers

127363 2003-03-12 08:02:00 You too Billy?
I find the same thing when I use Housecall as well, yet when I use the Symantec online scanner, I come up squeeky clean (well my PC does anyway)
Trend trying to induce some kind of paranoia?
