127698 2003-03-13 06:20:00 I have just loaded Money 2000 Standard onto a computer with Windows XP Professional.

The program sorta works BUT keeps looking to drive D: (program loaded from there) for the MSMoney.exe file.

The .exe file has been loaded onto the C Drive. Pressing the continue button allows the program to continue running. However it is a tacky way to run the program.

The error message says:
"Microsoft Money MSMoney.exe - No disk
There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into Drive D:
Cancel Try Again Continue.

Is MS Money compatible with Windows XP?

127699 2003-03-13 06:28:00 Probably not, as MSM 2000 was designed for ME. Danger (287)

I don't see why not. I am running MS Money for Win 98 on my Win XP computer without any problems.

Have you installed all the features? I am wondering if the program is looking for the CD due to some component not being installed.

If you have a shortcut to Money on your Desktop right click it, choose Properties and in the Target field type in the location of the "msmoney.exe" file. You can use the "Find Target" button to locate it.

If you do not have a shortcut to Money on your Desktop try creating one and see if that solves your problem.

127701 2003-03-13 17:17:00 A good nights sleep seems to have fixed it.

It now works without any problems.

Thanks for your replies

As simple as that? :O

I am convinced a good night's sleep would fix most of my problems too -- got any ideas on HOW to get a good night's sleep?! :p

127703 2004-03-13 12:31:00 I've got the same problem running Money 2000 on Win XP. My sleep hasn't fixed it. What did you do apart from sleep? bpt1 (419)
