| 127736 | 2003-03-14 01:33:00 | Yo Billy! How does the saying go? "Great minds think alike", isn't it? :D Yes, I have precisely that setup on The Beast with all the plugs going into one of those powerboards with a surge protector. (I think/hope that an UPS would be an overkill in my situation. :|). With that setup the monitor, speakers, modem, computer and something else (there are five plugs down there but I cannot see what the fifth one is attached to) are all killed in one fell swoop everytime the PC is closed down. The same thing could be done to the older PC but training lazy offspring to do the dirty job is more trouble than it is worth. Can't really blame them because the switch IS in a jolly awkward place and I would be guilty of not practicing what I preach anyway. :D > You ever seen that movie, "Ghost In The Machine" ?? Err.... no. It has probably been on our television at some stage or another but I am known for not being able to watch spooky movies, much to the delight of my wicked children. I rue the day they discovered that because I am sure it is no coincidence that most of the DVDs they hire are "those types". As if my nightmares weren't bad enough already. :p > Put a lead on it and take it for a walk around the park, it needs the exercise. Bit risky. The new dog laws prohibit uncontrollable creatures in public places. :p :D |
