| 128280 | 2003-03-15 05:13:00 | Following a terminal hard drive crash on my old Win 95 machine I have just upgraded now have a Win XP operating system on my new PC. I installed my old faithful Microsoft Publisher Version 2.0a. I went to the Clipart Live Gallery and downloaded a bunch of Clipart. In he good old days ( last week) with Win 95 I simply clicked on the downloaded package( in Windows Explorer) and it unzipped to the Clipart directory where it could be viewed by MS Publisher. I now have a downloaded package called ODOUIAFA.cil which cannot be opened by XP. How do I or what software do I need to be able to extract this package to clipart so MS Publisher can read it Any assistance would be appreciated. |

That should make no difference however, because even if I save to disk I can still doubleclick it and have it added to the collection. Maybe you could try renaming the extension to .mpf and see if it will work then? |

| 128284 | 2003-03-15 10:18:00 | Thanks Godfather - but I'd already seen that article which appear to relate to Windows 95. ( I did try it but the instructions do not work with XP) I guess I need to get a copy of Microsoft Clip Gallery that will work on XP (I cant recall how I came to have the copy with Win95.) Any suggestions? |

Hi Ross, well according to this link Here (dgl.microsoft.com) Then - Help - then Introduction, Software Supporting Design Gallery Live - your version of Microsoft Publisher Version 2.0 should have Clip Gallery 3.0 or later or Clip Organizer - so that is probably where it came from in win 95. I use xp and got Clip Gallery with "Works Suite" & then Clip Organizer with "Office xp", if that is of help to you. Is Clip Gallery actually installed/in your Programs and thats how you got to the download site or were you going to the site by browsing to it? Perhaps it is just not compatible with xp (that version of Clip Gallery), I note my version is 5.0 (from "works suite"). But surely you must be able to upgrade to a newer version perhaps? Hopefully sombody may be able to help with compatibility and if it will run on xp - but do check if you actually have it in your programs (Clip Gallery)and let us know what version of Clip Gallery it is. But this gives the impression you may not have Clip Gallery installed possibly? > > > 3I now have a downloaded package called ODOUIAFA.cil which cannot be opened by XP. Is it possibly on another disc you haven't installed yet? |
