128265 2003-03-15 04:24:00 I'm looking for a windows/linux proxy that will let me,

1. Specify IP addresses of users that are allowed to connect to the net through the proxy.
2. Limit the bandwidth available to the user or perform automatic load sharing.
3. Limit (cap) the download the amount of data a user can download.
4. Perform NAT
5. Perform NPT

Anyone use/know of a proxy that can do this?

128266 2003-03-15 04:32:00 Actually it looks like I've found one that might fit the bill; www.tucows.co.nz nz_liam (845)
128267 2003-03-15 05:07:00 I think squid (http://www.squid-cache.org/) if you go with linux. bmason (508)
128268 2003-03-15 07:31:00 Does squid have a list of features? nz_liam (845)
128269 2003-03-15 07:37:00 Esentially what I'm looking for is more of an access controll program rather than a full cacheing proxy. nz_liam (845)

If you've got RedHat 8, and AFAIK, you've done an 'Install All' setup, try typing:
man squid

see if that's of any help!

128274 2003-03-15 10:00:00 I think Xtra have a proxy server - I've seen something on their website in regards to it..
The answer might be in that PCWorld article where they went through Xtra's server house and got the piccy's of their caching server and everything...
