128100 2003-03-14 19:26:00 I cannot access the internet after installing a Microsoft Patch, which is now uninstalled.
The Modem is on com3, but when I 'remove' it and try to re-install it there is only com1 and com2 available.
How can I add a port, or how can I get the modem on port 3 again?
Thanks.......Arjay

128101 2003-03-14 21:05:00 Do a search on the forum for "com3" and you will find quite a few posts regarding this. It sounds like you need to install the drivers for your modem. Susan B (19)
128102 2003-03-15 03:41:00 All ok now. Do yourself a favour, don't load Windows XP Service Packs, It changes the modem driver.....If this happens reload the modem with the correct driver and all will be well!

I would disagree with that. Having to reinstall the modem drivers is a small price to pay for the added security that upgrading to SP1 gives you.

Glad to hear that you sorted it out though. :-)
