with reguards to multiable connections yes there is an overhead for each one. thats why you don't run 50 connections with a 5kB/s connection. with most good connections 2-3 is fine. what you lose in overhead you gain by having a more constant download. for slower eg 2-3kB/s connections a single connection is best. however if the site(s) is running really slow then you can simply add aother connection. however be warned, some sites do not like muliable connections and can dissconnect if you have to many.

a firewall or Ad-Aware will stop this
i have noticed the lates version has 3or4 connections, my verion allows upto 7 :-)

128180 2003-03-15 03:54:00 i perfer flashget myself but there are some tricks to it. install it in shareware mode (so you don't get the spyware) and if you have the fake cydoor spyware you may be in for a nice surprise ;-)

1.66mb in 7 min = ~3.9kB/s.
a logon speed of 46.6kb/s dosn't mean jack.
