| 128643 | 2003-03-16 10:55:00 | Hi everyone - can someone help me pse? I have recently purchansed a new PC with Windows XP. I had the retailer instal the CD writier from my old machine on the new one. They downloaded 'NERO' software for me but it was only a trial verson so I deleted it and installed the ROXIO 5.1 Basic software. I can copy an audio CD O.K. but since installing this software I am unable to copy or move my digital photo's - I bought a camera as well - to CD. When in the 'My pictures' window and I click either 'Move' or 'Copy' this photo to my CD writer I get a message that 'The photo's on this CD are 'Read Only' and I can't write to them. When I put a completely empty (new) blank CD in the CR and try the same thing - it comes up 'E drive to accessible'. Obviously the CD writer actually works - because I can still copy an Audio CD but can't seem to transfer my photos. With a new camera the kids a clocking up hundres of photo's and I want to store them on CD not my hard drive!!! Any suggestions? - Tks Lance Tebbutt |

Having not used Roxio I cannot comment on the viability of "move to" etc from a right click option under Roxio, but that functioality (send to CD) is built into Windows XP anyway, so no real need to use Roxio for that. As long as you are using a CD-R and not a CD-RW as media I dont see why the native XP program will not work without Roxio running. |

Try right clicking the picture click 'send to' and then click the drive for your writer. If successful, open the drive, and write the picture to the CD-R. By default, articles sent to a CD-R are converted to 'read only' good luck, Robby |
