| 128579 | 2003-03-16 06:59:00 | I have just replaced my Atapi CD-RW burner with a Sony DRU-500A DVD burner. I have burnt several VCDs on the Atapi and a couple on the Sony and also one DVD on the Sony. For playback I am using a Pioneer DV - 525 player. When playing back my home burnt VCDs and the DVD the Pioneer produces good pictures but crackly sound much like that heard in the days of bad vinyl disks. When played on two other DVD players (both Sony) the sound from the home burnt disks is as smooth as silk. On my own Pioneer, commercial DVDs are silent and smooth. I have checked the audio setup on the Pioneer menu and it is set to the defaults. Can anyone suggest what gives and a possible solution? Thanks....Dave | windave (3373) | ||

| 128581 | 2003-03-17 01:01:00 | Computer has: AMD XP 2000 CPU, 512Mb of DDR RAM, Genius SM32X2 Soundcard with Genius drivers, MSI NVidia GeForce 4 MX 460 video card, Pioneer DVD-ROM DVD-115F DVD player, Sony DRU 500A burner, and the O/S is Windows XP Pro with SP1 and heaps of other SP2 Updates. On the computer using Power DVD 4.0 the VCDs play great as do commercial DVD movies. The Pioneer DVD player is probably the gremlin because those same DVDs play great on other DVD players....Windave |
