If you have people using your computer who do not respect your wishes, i would strongly suggest enabling the guest log in, and changing the root/administrative password. This will let them use the computer, but NOT install super free programs or any of the other wonders of the net. I think it will also prevent them from re-editing the hosts file (i think). .Clueless |

| 128714 | 2003-03-17 05:09:00 | No csinclair83, dont add to the SAMPLE hosts file, thats just for telling you how to do it, it probably has an extension .sam, ie hosts.sam, that wont work. Make a new file just called hosts, no extension. Cheers |

| 128716 | 2003-03-17 06:04:00 | the next step is to check that history each day and add any sites you see that have been accessed. and yes it is true that all they would have to do is deleate the hosts fiel and the porn will come back. the trick is that if they dont know how you blocked it then they cant unblock it :-) if they do remove the hosts file then remove the computer. |
