| 128728 | 2003-03-17 03:17:00 | I purchased Microsofts Zoo Tycoon from Dick Smiths, it was shrunk wrapped and had the microsoft authenticity certificate on the box etc, but the jolly thing wont install, it keep coming up with "Media Authentication Failed setup will now close" and it always happens after the installation asked to set the folder and its destination. I have many Microsoft games installed including Age of Mythology and have never encountered this problem before. I always clean my computer (defrag etc) and do a clean boot before installing any software, I have returned the software hopeing its just a faulty disk, but my search on the internet has shown me other people have had this problem even though its rare. I have been on the Microsoft knowledge base and done everything they asked as well with no luck. Maybe some clever person out there will have the answer. | Vickitoria (3382) | ||

I popped in and asked if they would mind checking whether it was the program or perhaps my CD drive by loading it onto one of their demo PC's. The assistant did this and it appeared that it was the software as it failed to load on their PC as well. A lot cheaper than buying a new CD drive to find that it is duff software ;) |

| 128732 | 2003-03-18 03:25:00 | Thank you guys and gals for the help, I do turn everything off when I install software, I actually do a clean boot. My CD writer is what I use to install software and its only 6 months old, so my hope is that it is the CD and will not have any problems with the replacement. | Vickitoria (3382) | ||
