| 128678 | 2003-03-17 01:06:00 | We have a Toshiba Satellite 1410 laptop, running Win XP Pro which will not connect to the network while booting up with the network cable pugged in. The following message appears after entering user name, password & Domain : "Windows cannot connect to the domain either because the domain controller is down or otherwise unavaliable, or because your computer account was not found. please try again latter. If this message continues to appear contact you system administrator for assistance." If you boot-up with the cable disconnected all is fine and you can plug the cable back in and be connected to the network. The file server is running Win 2000. Is this a faulty card or is it a settings problem. |

There's likely to be a setting wrong somewhere I would say, which is being corrected when you're manually logging in... It cant really hurt to remove TCP/IP etc. and start again, but give it a shot and see how you go :-) |

You can, however reset TCP/IP by issuing the following command (from a command prompt): netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt (where resetlog.txt can be any filename - it records the actions taken) :| |
