| 128543 | 2003-03-16 04:33:00 | Hi all. As the subject says, quick questions here! 1) I am editing all the icons in XP (Using Resource Hakcer and Icon XP) and I want to apply them to the "Shell32.dll" file but I can't overwrite it in normal OR safe mode. How do I replace the old file with the new edited one. 2) I just got the program Pegasus and I want to know ALL the information I need to know to put Hotmail in as the account (the program is the same as Outlook people). I need to know The POP3 (I have no idea what these are), the SMTP and Dailing (all for hotmail). |

You could however, use Outlook or Outlook Express to receive your Hotmail Emails. Otherwise, search on the internet for a program called POP2HOT - which is supposed to be a convertor from HTTP to Pop3 so people can receive their Hotmail Emails with their standard Pop3 email client CyberChuck |

| 128546 | 2003-03-16 04:50:00 | I'm using Outlook XP at the moment, so I'll guide you from there. Outlook 2000 should be reasonably similar. 1 - Open Outlook Then Click Tools > E-Mail Accounts > Add a New Email Account 2 - Select "HTTP" as the Email Account Type 3 - Fill in the gaps, Your Name, Your email address, etc, make sure that the HTTP Mail Service Provider is Hotmail - (your user-name will be your full email address including @hotmail.com) 4 - Click Okay and Finish to complete the operation!! That's it! |

| 128548 | 2003-03-16 11:29:00 | if you can't overwrite the file in safe mode or in "normal" mode, then your only other way is ( assuming the files properties such as read only are diabled ) to get into command line!! select it from the menu you see when you try to get into safe mode! :-) |

| 128549 | 2003-03-16 11:34:00 | Sorry but that dosn't make sence. What do I need to do? And also, it looks like Outlook 2000 dosn't have the option to use http servers (E.G Hotmail). I am using Outlook Press (came with XP Pro). What is the differance detween them? |

| 128550 | 2003-03-17 06:01:00 | Okay Am I right in assuming that Outlook Press is Outlook Express?? For Outlook 2000 - Microsoft reccomends adding a link to www . hotmail . com (http://www . microsoft . com) and then logging in to Hotmail that way, however it's kind of stupid in the sense that you're practically using Outlook 2000 as your Internet Browse For configuration tips for Outlook Express view the Microsoft Support Database ( . microsoft . com/default . aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;220852" target="_blank">support . microsoft . com) - that link has step by step instructions and images to help Otherwise, for Outlook 2000, if your willing to try a program which is supposed to be able to download HTTP Emails for Outlook then take a look at This Page ( . slipstick . com/config/ol2000hotmail . htm" target="_blank">www . slipstick . com) Also, your new icons? have you created your own Shell32 . dll file? because if you have, then you would be able to boot up into MSDOS mode (dunno how with XP) and change it via dos, however, I would keep a backup of the Shell32 . dll file handy, as Windows is very tightly bound to shell32 . dll and doesn't seem to like it getting changed . - I have tried it with Windows95 and a WindowsME Shell32 . dll - Windows95 picked it up on the reboot .
