| 129426 | 2003-03-19 03:45:00 | Hi, Maybe someone has a simple answer. I have been trying to install a used drive on a p75 computer. I know the drive has windows 98 installed and was working fine last time it was in a machine . It is a 1.2 gb drive. The auto detect seems to work in cmos setup but at bootup the message 'disk I/O error, replace the disk and press any key' comes up . Is there something simple i have missed. Pete |

| 129427 | 2003-03-19 03:53:00 | The autodetect identifies the physical IDE drive and assigns an arbitrary set of Cylindeers/Heads/sectors numbers to approximate the size of the disk. If the BIOS on the present machine is different from the one the disk was partitioned on, it won't work, without being partitioned on the actual machine. | Graham L (2) | ||
