| 129498 | 2003-03-23 00:53:00 | Before reinstalling Windows I'd suggest thinking through the following: - It's only just started happening. Have you installed any new programs or reconfigured old ones lately? - Do you have a fire wall in place - old? new? changed? - Check settings in firewall - Is your anti-virus up-to-date? Could you/family member have run a virus that is changing your connection? - Run an on-line virus checker (in case a virus has disabled existing one) - Check Start; Programs; Accessories; Communications; Dial-up networking - and check that there are only the required number of dial-up accounts - Can you install a new email program and check if it happens there as well? |

| 129499 | 2003-03-23 05:53:00 | Thanks for your reply Phoneix I have OE VERSION 6.28 , I go OE,tools, accounts, mail, click on xtra account, click properties, the only tick or untick box on this properties page is: "Include this account when receiving mail and syncrhronising" I have tried it ticked and unticked. I have only one ISP (XTRA) but have a hotmail account. Thanks tedheath |
