129230 2003-03-18 11:30:00 Anyone help with this one? I want to find the first cell in a column that has a certain value and then insert the value of an adjacent column in the previous row. E.g insert the value of the cell in column A that is one row above the first cell in Column B with a value of <2. bpt1 (419)

Do you mean you want to test a cell for a value, and if it meets the criteria then replace it with another value?

You would need Visual Basic, or a macro, not a formulae? Otherwise the formula is recursive (circular). A formula is not usually able to refer to its own cell value, then change itself.

Or have I missed the point?

129232 2003-03-18 12:06:00 No, I want to insert in cell (e.g.) A1 the value of cell An-1 if Bn <2. Does that help? bpt1 (419)
