| 129783 | 2003-03-21 03:37:00 | (Excel 2000) I have a sheet where I need to replace the dates in cells of the following pattern: A4, A31, A58 etc. It's a regular gap all the way down and the dates are daily increments (Mon-Fri only) for three months. When I want to replace the dates I'm having to delete each cell manually and type in the date, move down to the next and repeat - argh there must be a way of automating this process (a macro even, but preferably a formula)- especially as the cells are regularly spaced? I cannot select a cell and drag down as I don't want to replace the data in-between (A5-A30) - any advise would be hugely appreciated... |

| 129784 | 2003-03-21 03:50:00 | You could make a list of the dates somewhere else on the sheet in consective order, then copy these to the repective cells on your sheet (ie: new list at aa1, a4=aa1, a31=aa2 etc). That way you could easily change the dates in the consecutive list by dragging down, and your sheet cells would follow suit. This may not be the best way, but once you've set it up, it'll be easier than what you're doing now. Regards, andy |
