| 129756 | 2003-03-21 01:30:00 | FYI, I run IE6 and both values are set to 10 Therefore I can't see a problem with altering it. Just note what they were before you changed them, you could always restore. | Pheonix (280) | ||
| 129757 | 2003-03-21 08:00:00 | its a commen tweak. safe enough. if you want an easy way to do it use x-setup. however you will only benifit from it if you have broadband. | tweak'e (174) | ||
| 129758 | 2003-03-21 09:25:00 | Opera7 uses max of 8 connections per server plus a total max of 20 connections, and just to throw in a wildcard, a network buffer of 32Kb. All by default of course. I don't know if this info is relevant but Opera is the fastests browser I have used, so maybe these settings might be relevant. Althought Mozilla with a ramdisk cache is pretty fast. |

| 129759 | 2003-03-22 01:03:00 | Thanks everyone . Yes, I tried it and it made no noticeable difference at all! However, Im only on a normal Dial-Up connection and as tweake points out it looks like one needs to be on broadband for it to be effective . Im sure I read somewhere it was supposed to improve Dial-Up as well but this doesnt appear to be the case . The good news is it didnt appear to do any harm . Bob |
