129740 2003-03-21 00:59:00 hey does anyone have any gripes with the Acer/Benq 52x cd rom drive that the pc company use for their computers?

also are their clearance sales any good?
eg. do they have plenty of stock to sell?

hmm might buy some parts for my new computer while im there

129741 2003-03-21 01:32:00 Ive had an Acer 44x for a couple of years with no problems. Just remember that if they sell them as in going order, you are still covered under the consumer guarantee act. If in doubt, get them to state that on your reciept. Pheonix (280)

129744 2003-03-22 03:27:00 Well you had to be quick!! The place was crowded at opening time (10am) and there were some bargains, though why anyone would want a pallet of faulty monitors for $50, I don't know! andy (473)
129745 2003-03-22 21:39:00 I went through hell with (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz) a Benq CDRW drive.

It is possible that they have improved. It seems that at the time i was far from alone.

129746 2003-03-22 23:17:00 The cd roms are OK. But with the writer, some had a problem with the cd drawer. Just a little warpage and it would fail. They had a bad run for a little while there. Pheonix (280)
