Hi Billy .

You mention that the brand is unknown to you . Did you find out anything about the company or not?

If not, they are Robinson Industries Ltd .
www . robinhood . co . nz
. robinhood . co . nz/index . html" target="_blank">www . robinhood . co . nz

They seem to be mainly in Australia, but according to Consumer Magazine their rangehoods are manufactured in NZ . Consumer gave their Robinhood rangehood the best value for money in the last two tests, so at least they make something worthwhile . I don't know about their waste disposals though .

Congratulations to you both and all the best for Saturday .

Cheers .

129557 2003-03-20 11:03:00 Why don't you start a compost heap Billy? All them little worms will enjoy all the kitchen scraps! Baldy (26)
129558 2003-03-20 11:18:00 Hiya Biily T

I sold appliances from 1987 to 1998 - From memory Robinhood was Robinson Industries, and used to brand their products 'Rotec' . I recall the Rotec waste disposers as being blue in colour and fairly compact, but good value for money .

We used to sell plenty of Rotec rangehoods and supertubs and the occasional built in ironing board contraption . I think the laundry tubs (suprtubs) are still branded Rotec supertubs .

Anyway - the company was good to deal with, and if the price is right go for it .

129559 2003-03-20 21:52:00 Thanks exLL & Jester

If Robinhood is a local company that's good enough for me. The last one was a Masport and was still going strong, apart from the broken plastic pipe which I can't fix or replace (shame :8}).

I prefer to buy from local manufacturers if I can, warranties take care of all the other issues.

Cheers

Thanks for the kind words exLL,
I'll pass them on to Mrs T, she will be
pleased to hear from you I am sure.

129560 2003-03-20 22:33:00 Mrs T is very lucky, I'm not allowed one of them gobbler things . :-(

Blame the careless fools at HWMO's work cafe who forget that knives, forks, spoons and other such metal delicacies go into the dishwasher instead of the gobbler . HWMO swore years ago that no way was he going to dismantle and fix the beasts at home as well as at work, taking no notice of my pledges that I will never be so daft as to feed mine metal .

My sister is always boasting about hers and how she would not be without it . It's not fair!! I want a gobbler too!! :_|

Or chickens . Chickens would be the next best thing . :-)
Looks in newspaper for affordable "lifestyle block" . Hmmm, chickens might be a trifle expensive . . . . :p
[b]Happy Anniversary for tomorrow, Big Bruv! Congratulations to you both . :x :-)

129561 2003-03-20 22:53:00 I have a perfectly good waste disposal system. We keep it outside the back door. It's called a rubbish tin.

129562 2003-03-20 23:54:00 Hi Susan

Standby for outburst of domestic trivia:

Having a waste disposal eliminates food scraps from your rubbish making it odour free . Anything that can't go down the gobbler but will decompose and/or smell (such as big bones or meat wrappers) goes into a plastic shopping bag in the freezer and goes out on rubbish morning .

That plus recycling of all paper, glass, plastic and metal means we put out only one rubbish bag per month for a normal (sort of) family of two adults & two teenagers .

Compost heaps breed flies, rubbish tins likewise, even in the best managed of families . We have so few flies even in the height of summer that our children have a fit if they see one inside the house . Also, our rubbish bag is totally unattractive to dogs, cats, ants, flies, rats, mice, possums and other miscellaneous creatures .

Make your husband rubbish monitor, give him a badge to wear and a stamp on his hand, and he will soon enough decide that waste disposals are an indispensible domestic appliance . We drop the occasional piece of cutlery down ours but it is easy to get out . It must be hell for you living in pioneer house . ]:)

Cheers

Trying to follow your husband's logic, we don't use
our dishwasher as a waste disposal either . ?:|
