129633 2003-03-20 06:47:00 I wish to uninstall a DOS programme.
I have checked The windows add/remove programmes but it is not listed.
My os is windows 98.
I have made a back-up of the programme.
But now wish to uninstall it.
I wish to install a different version but was told to delete the original programme first.
Please help!!

Bruce.

129634 2003-03-20 07:03:00 Open up my Computer, Find the folder that it is stored in

Right-Click on it and choose Delete

leave it in the recycle bin until youre sure your next version works.

You can then remove it from the recycle bin :-)

129635 2003-03-20 07:09:00 Dos programs usually sit within a dedicated folder typically using the program name or a contracted version of it. There may also be entries made in autoexec.bat, config.sys and Win.ini files.

I recommend that you identify the folder in which the files are located and delete it manually. That should be sufficient but not knowing the name of the program I can't be sure what else is required (hint: it always helps to include this in your posts).

You can try looking inside config.sys and autoexec.bat using Notepad (not wordpad) and deleting any references to that program. make backup copies before doing this just in case.
