130159 2003-03-22 21:23:00 I'm not sure which annoys me the most, is it that people make this **** up, or that people actually believe it and forward it

quoted, "punchline"(?) from a "forward this and.." type e-mail

......... "NO", she said, "there is probably something
in there that will bite me!". I promise you that there is
nothing in here that will bite you.", the old lady said.
So the Saleslady stuck her hand inside the container and
screamed.

To find out what was inside the container you must
send it to at least 8 people. When the computer says your
mail has been sent, hit ALT-8 and the container will pop
up on your screen.

Yes i chose the word "Virus" with care, this "script" exploits a weakness in human behavior that allows it to be duplicated and sent throughout the internet causing annoyance in a way similar to any other "self replicating code". People, please take care not to be a part of it

There's another on floating about saying that CNN anounce the "worst virus ever" odd that that gets forwarded before cnn.com gets looked at. CNNs technology section simply reports yet another M$ venerability found (nothing unusual)

130160 2003-03-22 23:50:00 I agree with you Clueless. I consider these types of emails to be spam, and I get cheesed off when I receive one from well-meaning friends. I try to discourage friends/work colleagues from forwarding them in the first place.

The type of email I find even more offensive is the one equivalent to the snail-mail chain letters (do they still exists??). Usually it contains some cute little friendship poem and ends with if you don't want to get bad luck for the next week, send this on to 6 friends; if you don't want any back luck for the next month, send this on to 10 friends ... etc. What a load of tripe!

I always delete both type of messages instanty!
