2003-03-22 04:09:00 | Love to tell you what the extension is,but look as I might I can find no mention of such a beast?Where is it to be found gentlemen? | Thomas (1820) | |
2003-03-22 09:15:00 | An extension is a 3 letter format that every file uses depending on what program made the file. eg. A Word document will have the extension .doc A powerpoint file will have either .pps or .ppt An excel file will have .xls A program will have .exe So a letter typed in word will be called "MyLetter.doc" (assuming "MyLetter" is what you called the file when you saved it. If the 3 letter extension is not showing on your file, go to "Tools>Folder Options>View" & untick "Hide extensions for known file types" Click apply, refresh the page by hitting F5 & the .xxx should be showing. Post it back & we will help.

2003-03-22 09:56:00 | Stumped,I am stumped,did as you said and no extension,did it twice just make sure. | Thomas (1820) | |
2003-03-22 10:24:00 | Are other files in My Documents showing an .xxx extension? Is the attachment still in your email? If it is save it to My Documents & the extension should show & scan with antivirus. Do you know who it came from? If you don't nuke it, it's not worth the risk.

2003-03-22 21:34:00 | It was from a friend in usa, quite often her jokes wont open,on this occasion I saved it to documents to try and open it from there, its only from web mail that I have had this problem.I have asked her about it,she has no idea what causes this to be the case as she just forwards as one does. It's nothing important, just like to know why this happens. Fw_Very funny,ifodd[1]..email, email file 2831 kb.......that is all it says.
