130023 2003-03-22 02:34:00 Q1 - Ive been sent an Xl97 file, but there is one small display problem.

The entry in cell A1 takes up Rows A1 and A2, same for the entry in cell B1 (takes up rows B1 and B2. There is just one cell row and height boarder that covers two rows.

I know that because I can see and enter data in rows C1 and C2, while I cant do anything to split whats shown in cells A1 or B1.

So how can I split cell A1 and A2 so they look like the cells in Column 3

Thanks.....John

Q2 - Oh, another file I downloaded, dispite seeing the data in every cell, nothing showed up on the Formula Bar. is there a way you can disable showing a formula in the Formula bar, and still display the result or data entry in a cell?

what i did was edit/Copy & paste into Excel the PC World CD list from this site mystuff.orcon.net.nz then try and sort them for easy listing for future reference.

Have a go, youll see what I mean.

Thried saving this in XL97, and a CSV format, came up with nothing saved at all.

If you managed to save it into something useful, please tell me how you did it.

Saving it into Word isint much help.

Cheers.......John.

130025 2003-03-22 02:51:00 Solved . . . . .

I Edit/Pasted it into XL, then Edit/Paste into MS Word, this allowed me to save the result as a Table . Sorted out Column width . Next Edit/Copy and Paste back into Excel .

Worked a treat .

130026 2003-03-22 10:48:00 Your 2 cells are merged (A1 & A2 problem).

Right click the cell and choose "Format Cells"
Click on the "Alignment" tab and uncheck the "Merge Cells" checkbox and then OK.

Hope that helps.
