| 130300 | 2003-03-23 06:40:00 | I have an IBM Personal computer 300GL 628294A it is a pentuim 200 computer with the standard 32 MB 128Pin ram chip in there, problem is we want to upgrade to a 64MB chip, we have just bought one PC100 chip i believe it is as stated the right type on the box, there are two slots, only problem it wont work for some reason, it keeps saying it is every other size but 64mb, has said 16 mb, keep getting error for bios, using only this chip in there not the 32mb aswell, my partner thinks there is some kind of jumper setting or something, we have no mohterboard manual or cant find one either, anyone who has this same problem, and has fixed it or knows how to get the m/board manual would be greatly appreciated as my puter is running very slow at 32mb ram. please please help.asap lisa_merv@xtra.co.nz |

Also you might like to keep the 32Mb RAM in it's slot and put the new RAM in the second slot. This can sometimes fool the BIOS into running with RAM that isn't totally compatible. PS It isn't a good idea to post an e-mail address on public forums. If you do find the need the best way is to write it as lisa_merv at xtra dot co dot nz |
