| 130277 | 2003-03-23 04:10:00 | I got a DVD drive at the PC Co. sale yesterday. I've put it in my Win98 P3 550 box (256mb ram). It reads dvd data disks fine, but what do I need software-wise to get it play movie dvd's? Will it even do this - the graphics are only 8mb agp on-board? andy |

You can make do with a P300 or any AMD processor with 64 MB RAM plus, and a 4Meg or higher graphics card (Although some people make do with 2 megs)... Anyways Software, you'll need something to play it on, so if you're stuck for cash, go hire out Spiderman DVD coz it comes with InterActual Player. If you're playing multiple region DVD's, then you may wanna goto dvdidle.com and buy DVD Region-Free, I highly recommend it! HTH Chilling_Silence BTW - I personally use Power DVD XP! Its great, but costs... |
