1333145 2013-03-17 19:45:00 I'm using a 2yr old Acer laptop running Win7. I use the standard Windows (incremental) backup, to a Seagate 1.5TB via its own USB cable. I've not altered any of the settings and yet the process can take 2 hours. Being incremental I was expecting it to take minutes only. Does anyone have any comments or suggestions? Thanks, Murray K. muzza101 (9513)
1333146 2013-03-17 20:16:00 Check the size of the back up, you may find even though its meant to be incremental, sometimes Windows Backup actually backs up as if fresh, so it could be backing up the whole drive each time. wainuitech (129)
1333147 2013-03-17 20:17:00 How big are the backups typically? USB 2.0 will limit the transfer speed to around 40Mbps so that is likely a factor. If you had the option to go eSATA or USB 3.0 it would remove that limitation. I altered my backup settings to only do an image of the C: drive once a week and it's much quicker than that, although it's backing up to another internal drive (not a laptop). dugimodo (138)
