1332457 2013-03-13 07:27:00 Two months ago, I bought an Android phone, an Alcatel One Touch 922 to see how it goes.

So far, I've managed to make the following items functional:
- Viewing newspaper websites such as www.nzherald.co.nz
- Texting
- The contacts icon
- The phone camera
- The web browser
- Hotmail

What I haven't got going is:
- Accessing my Orcon emails - for some mysterious reason, I haven't succeeded in sending/receiving my emails from my mobile. Even though I think I've typed in the right settings.
- Snapper - used for hopping on and off Auckland buses to pay bus fares. Haven't got around to this yet.
- OfficeSuite - haven't been able to create nor save any documents at all. Do I need a SD card or something for this?

For sorting all these above items, I wonder if there is an Android users online forum or offline users group in Auckland. Info on this would be appreciated.

Thanks,
BarryK.

Not sure about the rest of it but I wouldn't bother with this - Snapper is being phased out soon.

What's it being replaced with? Another NFC system or a completely different technology. Haven't heard about that sort of change in Wellington, or is this just an Auckland change.

For your Orcon emails, is the phone on WiFi on your home Orcon internet connection, or is it on 3G data? Because it may use different settings for non-Orcon connections, I don't recall.

What happens if you email yourself a document to your Gmail account, does it open in OfficeSuite to be edited? You shouldn't need an SD card, the phone has internal storage that can be used for storing the documents.

1332462 2013-03-14 07:48:00 Looks like Snapper will be obsolete before I even get to use it! Haven't even recognised a NFC terminal. Anyway let's cut to the chase.. is there an Android user group in Auckland or not? barryk (8612)
1332463 2013-03-14 10:39:00 No, there isn't as far as I'm aware, though there are online user groups. Chilling_Silence (9)
