| 1306776 | 2012-10-14 12:17:00 | Long story short, I'm looking to raise money for my girlfriend. Short story long, she's got vet bills to pay after her cat got attacked by a dog, which munted a bit of her leg. She's had to have multiple nights and surgeries at the vet, so her bills are around $2000 at the moment. I had the idea of asking reddit and putting up a funding page, but unfortunately haven't gotten any interest as of yet. I did, however, win some keys for a Dirt game, Deus Ex and some other steam game from Computer Lounge, and I was going to raffle them off or something to the donators. I'm confused as to how best I should go about it though. Given that I'm not entirely sure how the donations are received on goget, or if they'd let me do it like that, I figure I'd ask you lot before I go jumping in. I was thinking about taking donations via paypal, taking the donator names (if that's even possible?) and then using a random generator or something to pick the winners. I was also thinking about raffling off some Tf2 items, but same sort of deal. Here's the page I've got going in any case, gogetfunding.com Now, suggestions?:) |

You can't just make up some tickets and run one. Knew someone who did that once....and he cheated too, there was an investigation...to put it mildly. |

| 1306782 | 2012-10-14 23:13:00 | As other have said you need a license from the department of internal affairs to run a raffle. You would need to sell a lot of tickets to raise the sort of money you are after, and there is no guarantee that you will sell all the tickets and the price needs to be right as well. Talk to your bank and get a loan. |
