2012-10-12 03:27:00 | I mean ... what is wrong in this damn country when an insurance company can spend millions on sponsorship of a rugby team and leave people in Christchurch with broken homes and no payout to either repair or rebuild. Story HERE (www.odt.co.nz) Personally, I think AIG should be bloody ashamed of themselves ... but what else can you expect from a company who is more interested in lining their own pockets than actually doing what they are taking peoples money for. I hope those with AIG insurance think hard about whether they want to be paying into a company with the morals of a bloody pick pocket. Rant over ... :angry

2012-10-12 03:41:00 | Did AIG have much to do with the CHCH insurance?? I thought it was mostly NZ based companies that had the problems.. | paulw (1826) | |

2012-10-12 03:56:00 | AIG is the one who people are having the most problems with. Campbell Live on TV3 the other night looked at a block of 4 flats, all on the same foundation and with firewalls between each flat ... All flats were deemed to be beyond repair by AIG (flats 2 & 4) and AMI flats 1 & 3 (I think) ... AMI or some other insurance company agreed to pay out in full for the demolition & rebuild of flats 1 & 3 ... AIG came in and said flats 2 & 4 could be repaired ... that's AFTER the first 3 or 4 engineers reports said they were beyond repair. Not sure of the flat numbers or insurance companys involved other than AIG ... But have a look at the Campbell Live segment HERE (www.3news.co.nz)

2012-10-12 06:34:00 | IAG have a lot to answer for here but for a lot of people...particularly older the hold up is more of an issue with paperwork not being completed by the persons concerned but of course an insurance company isn't going to remind you. I had it when I put my claim in, they ignored my requested address for all correspondence and sent it to my old house which was totalled so that dragged it out in itself as it wasn't easy to get in to check the mail. Want to change insurance companies but I can't cos no one will insure! | hueybot3000 (3646) | |

2012-10-12 07:46:00 | Working with clients who need new stuff for there houses, most are waiting on EQC payouts before they can give the go ahead to order. And it's surprising how many come in and say well it's not really the quakes fault but I'm claiming anyway. | gary67 (56) | |
