| 1307046 | 2012-10-16 07:09:00 | Thanks Sanco, in both cases that is exactly what my new You Beaut :) Spreadsheet recons, although the answer is derived quite differently. :) Two formula: 1: Amount of Water = C26*((D26/E26)-1) Where C26= Litres, D26=Uncut, E26=Required or 2: Amount of Water = C30*D30/E30-C30 Where C30=Litres, D30 = Uncut, E30 = Required. Take your pick, the answer is the same. But still wondering why this old Trailes Scale is slightly different? |

Please remember to be extremely careful with heads and tails as they can be quite damaging to your health, and if you share this with friends to them as well ;) You want to have good memories of your 'hard labour' in 5 years time ... not regrets aye! |

(scroll down to the photos) WTF is it? I dont have one anyway. Might be a project for Error Guy when he gets his welder fired up? ;) Anyway, keep them Tips & Tricks coming. |

| 1307051 | 2012-10-17 01:40:00 | As soon as I have a functioning still I'll be brewing like crazy. Got 60kg of molasses stashed up but I can't use it :( Did a test ferment with 10L wash and it fermented nicely. Had a very low alcohol content (10% at most) but not bad for a "throw it together" type run. That car rim burner looks good, I personally prefer electric as you can control it much better (thermostats etc) and removes a flame from the vaporised alcohol mix. I heard about one still that a mate of a mate had. Was a reflux still that has for some reason, a ball + non return valve on the boiler (which was used to do beers as well) . Someone left it closed and it ruptured. Not an explosion, luckily his soldering was poor enough to let it go at about 13psi |
