1332464 2013-03-13 05:58:00 I have just received an email with an attachment
but I can not open it. It appears as jibberish.
it is a .docx. I know it is not spam as someone
is telling my SWMBO of a baby shower.
Any clues please.

1332470 2013-03-13 07:35:00 I already had Excel viewer and PP viewer.
I d/l Word viewer and when I tried to open the doc a box
said "can not start mswrd632". I did a reboot but the same
mess.appeared. I think from previous similarities
the answer was tell the sender to resend.

1332471 2013-03-13 07:49:00 Open office can open it. But first save the attachment, then start open office then click open and search for the file.

Or save file right click, open with select open office.

Or it could be corrupt.

And yes Open office, Libre office and Kingsoft office will all open a .docx file

1332472 2013-03-13 07:56:00 I'm no expert but just from my experience, make sure your Open Office is up to date. I've been caught out with something similar before. Marnie (4574)
1332473 2013-03-13 08:04:00 gary67; I clicked on the file, then SAVE AS and a box popped up,
"The converter failed to save the file"
Marnie; Whilst I was doing the above a box said
'A new version of OO is available' so I shall d/l that now.
