130837 2003-03-25 11:24:00 Is there anyway i can find out using any command or utility, to find out how long Windows has been going on for continuously without reboot/shutdown or how long has been my system turned on for?

Cheers :)

130838 2003-03-25 11:35:00 It's possible to find it if you dig through and look in the right places.

Or you could get this handy little free programme called Windows Uptime (www.rundegren.com) that will sit in your tray if you like for easy finding of the up time. It can also log up times as well.

130839 2003-03-25 11:59:00 Im sure there's some software that can sit in the tray, and monitor sys crashes too - and report back over the Web to a 3rd party website that monitors all that sorta stuff... read it in a PCW mag I think.

BTW - Congrats on the 2K JM :D

130840 2003-03-25 12:02:00 As my PC is always connected to the net when online, I simply refer to the task bar notification for the net connection. If you have an always on connection then it could be a simple solution for you ;-) flying_green_leprachaun (1767)
130841 2003-03-25 12:06:00 Yeah, me too - Only its for LAN.

It tells me its been 4 hours, 18 mins and about 39 seconds since I had to reboot and remove my 3rd HDD ;-)

130842 2003-03-25 12:24:00 Norton Utilities has the windows uptime feature. You can add it as a feature of the system monitor or whatever they call it...( the thing that sits in the taskbar and gives you a code red if your about to crash). PoWa (203)
130843 2003-03-26 03:26:00 I use an old util from the NT4 network resources kit called srvinfo.exe

grab it off my site here:
www.g33kflat.skankyflat.net/srvinfo.exe

biff it in your root (c: usually) or your root:\install\system32 folder (eg c:\winnt\system32 or c:\windows\system32), fire up cmd, type srvinfo and press enter. It'll display information about your computer, the networking setup, the available services and their statuses, and right at the end it will display your uptime

this is what it looks like:
