| 131176 | 2003-03-26 10:39:00 | I have two questions regarding Excel 1. I know that NPER will work out the number of payments needed to reach a total but what does NPER stand for? 2. To get GST inclusive you * by 12.5% but to get GST amount from a GST Inclusive price you divide by 9 why 9? I know it's trivial but it's bugging me Cheers |

| 131177 | 2003-03-26 10:58:00 | NPER = Number of PERiods GST 12 . 5% is one eighth Since GST is added to the original if the GST exclusive amount is 100 and = eight eighths then the GST inclusive amount is eight eighths plus one eighth = nine eigths so to find the GST content divide the amount by nine and . . . -------------------------------------------- tots! |

| 131178 | 2003-03-26 11:09:00 | NPER = Number of PERiods needed. GST=12.5% (0.125) Selling price incl GST = Actual Price * 1.125 Divide the Inclusive price by 9 and it reveals the Actual (net) price 1.125 divided by 9 = 0.125 (12.5%) Or 1.125 (incl price) divided by the GST (0.125) = 9 |
