| 130985 | 2003-03-26 06:06:00 | the past few days I've been having problems logging into the Windows Update site. Whenever I click on Windows Update I get the following message in my IE 6 window..... Thank you for your interest in Windows Update Windows Update is the online extension of Windows that helps you get the most out of your computer. You must be running a Microsoft Windows operating system in order to use Windows Update. Now naturally I'm confused because I"m running Windows 2000 Pro.. so why is it telling me I don't have a Windows Operating System. At first I thought it was IE 6, so I uninstalled it but I got the same error running IE 5. Does anyone have any ideas????? Thanks for any info you can give System Specs: CPU: 1.7Ghz Intel RAM: 640MB OS: Windows 2000 Pro SP 3 IE 6 SP1 Norton Anti Virus 2003 |

For more information about ActiveX Controls, please refer to the Windows Update FAQ. To download the latest version of Internet Explorer, visit the Internet Explorer Downloads Web site. Once Internet Explorer is installed, you can go to the Windows Update site by typing http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com into the address bar. It may well be an idea to check whether you have active x enabled. |
