If it wasn't for Telecom, all the others would not be in existance as I can't see them installing all their own wires etc. |

2003-03-27 11:32:00 | hi excuse me for saying this but..... if we all went with the same company ISP ( the best ) wouldnt there be lots of problems? dial ups and such would not be able to connect or everything would be so slow? and we are not always in the same position thinking wise or money wise to pick any body different, wether they be more costly or not. we use the ones available at the time or who actually answer the phone at the time ( thats what happened in my instance ) we chose who we chose ok? and we should not be told we did wrong, for any reason, (no offense) and we can always change later when we have knowledge under our belt. beetle

2003-03-28 13:01:00 | Well, I went back to Noel Leeming and got a replacement Dynalink modem. They were very good about it, could not have been more helpful. :) But......when I retried same results as before. So it is not a faulty modem. Though I did get the message when I started that the PC had detected new hardware, then went through the appropriate actions. :( I will uninstall the driver again and re-install and see if that helps. ?:|

2003-03-30 05:47:00 | I have tried the brand new replacement modem, uninstalled the software and driver and re-installed, checked all the settings with Xtra (my wife has also checked the settings). I am still getting the same problems. Xtra got me to disconnect the main phone with the filter to make sure the replacement filter was not faulty and that made no difference. Xtra are adamant that it is a modem problem and that I should contact the vendor. Is there a chance that I would have two brand new Dynalink modems in succession both of which are faulty ? I do not know what to try next. I do not want to buy a more expensive modem. At the moment I do not know what to do apart from taking back the modem and giving up on jetstream completely. The time wasted had been horrific from my viewpoint !!! :( :( :( :(

2003-03-30 08:59:00 | If you installed filters yourself rather than having Telecom split the connection (full install) then your burglar alarm may be the culprit. Can you disconnect it for a while to test? J. :D
